Santa Baby Hat Size 0-3 months


This Santa Baby Hat is so cute and so easy to make.  It is knitted on circular needles and can be finished in a day or two.  The Flower is crocheted and adds a special touch. Free instructions below.


Supplies

Yarn - Worsted 4 ply or any yarn to fit gauge.

Circular Needles - Size US 5/12 in.

Markers

Darning Needle

Scissor

 

Instructions

Gauge - 4 sts = 1 in.

Fits - Baby 0-3 Months


Pattern - K2, P2 in the round.

 

Cast on 60 stitches. Place marker.

Work in circular pattern for 27 rows.

Next row, decrease.

 

Row 28 - Decrease -*k2 tog, P2 repeat from* to marker.

Row 29 - Even

Row 30 - *K1, P2 tog, repeat from* to marker.

Row 31 - Even

Row 32 - *K2 tog, repeat from* to marker.

 

To finish - Sew sts off needles. Pull sts

 tog tightly and sew in ends.

 

Abbreviations:

Knit – K                Decrease - D

Purl – P                 Even - E

Stitches - sts.        Together – tog


Flower

Yarn - Worsted 4 ply or any yarn that fits gauge. 2 colors

Crochet Hook size H

Darning Needle

Scissor

 

Instructions

Chain 5. Slip stitch in 1st chain from hook.

Chain 1.

9 Single crochets in ring.

Do not turn. Connect ring with slip stitch in 1st single crochet.

Change colors.

Connect yarn with slip stitch in 1st single crochet.

Chain 8. Slip Stitch in same single crochet.

Chain 8. Slip Stitch in next single crochet. Repeat around 11 times.

Bind off

 

Yarn Button

Chain 3. Slip stitch in 1st chain from hook

2 single crochets in hole.

Bindi off.

Leave 2 inch ends on bobble. Sew each end of bobble into flower and use bobble ends to connect flower to hat.
